Tour Type

Overview

A rare cross-border passage through three nations — where Vietnam’s coast, China’s borderlands, and Laos’s river valleys unfold across a single unforgettable 8-day journey.

Itinerary

Vietnam

The journey opens in Vietnam, tracing coastline, countryside and citadel before crossing into new territory.

China

The rails carry you across the border into China’s borderlands — a rare stretch few rail journeys in the region attempt.

Laos

The final leg descends into Laos’s river valleys, a slower and more contemplative close to a three-nation passage.

Journey Highlights

Pre-Trip Information

A valid passport (with at least six months’ validity remaining) is required for all guests. Depending on your nationality, a Vietnam visa or e-visa may also be needed — our team can advise on requirements once your booking is confirmed.
Guests are responsible for arranging their own international and domestic flights to and from the journey’s starting and ending points. Our team is happy to recommend suitable flight timings that connect smoothly with your onboard schedule.
Check-in takes place at the departure station ahead of boarding. Our team will meet you, assist with luggage, and guide you through a smooth, unhurried check-in before you settle into your cabin.
Each journey includes guided off-train excursions at key stops along the route, escorted by knowledgeable local guides. Excursions are paced to be relaxed and immersive, never rushed.
Guests stay in private, air-conditioned en-suite cabins with daily housekeeping. Onboard amenities are designed around comfort throughout the journey, with attentive service at every stage.
All onboard meals are freshly prepared and served at set times aligned with the day’s itinerary, with regional specialities featured at select off-train stops. Soft drinks and a selection of beverages are included with onboard meals.
We recommend guests arrive at the departure point at least 30 minutes before check-in closes. Any dietary requirements, mobility needs, or special requests should be shared with our team at the time of booking.
Smart-casual, comfortable attire is recommended for onboard days, with layers advised for cooler highland stops. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for off-train excursions.
All journeys are operated with trained onboard staff, regular safety checks, and 24-hour support throughout. Guest safety and comfort are treated as a non-negotiable priority at every stage of the journey.
